About CompareSilverPrices.com

CompareSilverPrices.com was started in 2011 by a longtime precious-metals obsessive who goes by “Bernank.”
I was in high school during the Global Financial Crisis, and like a lot of people watching that era unfold, I became fascinated by economics, central banking, money, and markets. By 2011, I had become convinced that silver and gold deserved a serious place in the conversation. Not as hype or doom-posting, but as real monetary assets with real market structure, real premiums, and real information gaps.
At the time, buying bullion online was more opaque than it should have been. Dealer prices moved constantly, premiums varied wildly, and it was annoying to figure out who actually had the best live price on common products like Silver Eagles, Maple Leafs, rounds, and bars. So I built this site as a pet project. It was part transparency tool for the silver community and part excuse to learn how to code and run live websites.
I also briefly worked in the bullion industry for an online dealer during the 2011 to 2013 cycle. That dealer later went out of business after the post-2013 metals bust, which gave me an early look at how fast the market could change and how useful clean, current comparison data could be.
As life moved on, the site limped along. It stayed online in one form or another, but never got the full rebuild it deserved.
This is that rebuild.
Today, CompareSilverPrices.com is being rebooted with modern software, better data tooling, and more than a decade of hard-earned coding and product experience behind it. The goal is simple: make a free, clean, no-nonsense comparison board for the precious-metals community.
No sponsored rankings. No ads. No fake urgency. Just a useful tool to help people compare live bullion prices more clearly.
Dealer checkout is always final, and nothing here is financial advice. But if this site helps you avoid overpaying by even a few bucks, it is doing its job.
